What is a Tog Rating?
The British "TOG" value is the international standard measurement of all blankets' thermal effectiveness (how well it keeps you warm). It is widely used in the UK to describe warmth levels of duvets and synthetic sleeping bags which quickly can become too hot. Merino being a natural fibre reduces the likelihood of baby overheating.
At Lola & Ben® we advocate that parents ONLY use natural fibres with their children.
The TOG system can be a guide when using synthetic materials with baby, but nothing beats a parent's intuition and guidance in ensuring baby is kept comfortable.

Does Lola & Ben make a toddler sleeping bag for children aged 2-4years?
We often get asked this question. Whilst the Lola & Ben® Baby Sleeping Bag is ideal for baby up to 2 years of age, we have decided not to make a toddler sleeping bag as well.
We know with our own children that they were growing out of their cots, ready for beds, and toilet trained or training by 2. So a toddler sleeping bag would not have been suitable for them. Toddlers are often 'ready' for that next stage by then and ready to leave their sleeping bags.
We invested and dressed our own children in good quality merino pyjamas and socks to get them through their first winter in beds, while they were getting used to blankets. This was a more economical and practical sleep solution as they got good use out of these garments for the next 1 or 2 winters.
Keeping their bedrooms at the recommended temperature also prevents them from waking up cold.
